About the Foreign Language Examination (BTÜYDS) on 27-28 January 2025;
Who can apply for the exam?
Students who have successfully completed the B1+ level of BTU English Preparatory Class in the 2024-2025 Academic Year Spring Term,
English Translation and Interpreting Department students who successfully completed the B2+ level of BTU English Preparatory Class in the 2024-2025 Academic Year Spring Term,
Students enrolled in 2022 and 2023 and failed the first year of their preparatory class education,"Kayıtlı-beklemeli statüdeki öğrenciler", (Note: In accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers, these students are required to pay tuition fees in the autumn and spring semesters of 2024-2025. Our students who failed the preparatory class for two consecutive years and were dismissed and could not start their undergraduate education,
Graduate student candidates who want to apply to graduate programmes at Bursa Technical University and those who want to measure their proficiency in a foreign language (Note: Graduate student candidates applying to BTÜYDS and those who want to measure their foreign language proficiency must pay the exam fee of 250 TL. Exam Information:
2024-2025 Spring Semester Final BTÜYDS will be held on 27-28 January 2025 at the School of Foreign Languages, A Block, Yıldırım Bayezid Campus.
BTÜYDS is a two-stage and three-session exam. Session 1, which will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 27 January 2025, consists of 80 multiple-choice questions. This session includes questions that measure students' grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. Students who are successful in the 1st session by scoring at least 50 out of 100 points will be qualified to participate in the 2nd session to be held on Thursday, 28 June 2025 at 10:00 a.m. and the 3rd session to be held on the same day at 1:00 p.m. The 2nd session includes questions measuring students' listening and writing skills, and the 3rd session includes questions measuring speaking skills. (Graduate students will only participate in the 1st session).
46% of the score obtained from the 1st session, 36% of the score obtained from the 2nd session [Listening 18% and Writing 18%] and 18% of the score obtained from the 3rd session are taken to form the BTÜYDS score. The success criterion for BTÜYDS is 70 points (CLICK on the guide for BTÜYDS sample exam questions).
Candidates are required to be present in the specified exam room at least 30 minutes before the exam for identity check and exam placement.
Candidates who take BTÜYDS can learn their exam results from the ‘Announcement of Results’ tab under the BTÜYDS menu on the official web page of Bursa Technical University School of Foreign Languages.
BTÜYDS candidate list and exam room information will be announced on the official web page of our School of Foreign Languages after 04.00 p.m. on Friday, 24 January 2025.
Exam Application Information:
BTÜYDS applications for 27-28 January will start on Wednesday, 18 December 2024 at 08.00 a.m. and end on Thursday, 23 January 2024 at 04.00 p.m.

For BTÜYDS dated 27-28 January 2025, 2022 and 2023 entry students are required to pay tuition fee. Since the amount of tuition fee that these students pay may vary, they should call the preparatory school student affairs office. After making the fee payment, they are required to send the relevant receipt to the e-mail address ogrenci.ydyo@btu.edu.tr by 04.00 p.m. on Thursday, 23 January 2025. (IMPORTANT: The students in question must also have filled in the application form. The applications of students who do not send their receipts or do not fill out the application form within the specified application period will be invalid).
Graduate student candidates applying for BTÜYDS or those who want to measure their foreign language proficiency must pay the exam fee of 250 TL and send the relevant receipt to the e-mail address ogrenci.ydyo@btu.edu.tr until 04.00 p.m. on Thursday, 23 January 2025. (IMPORTANT: These candidates must also have completed the application form at the same time. The applications of the candidates who do not send their receipts or do not fill in the application form within the specified application period will be deemed invalid).
Refund requests received for any reason after 04.00 p.m. on Thursday, 23 January 2025, which is the deadline of application, will not be evaluated.
