EAQUALS Accreditation

Bursa Technical University School of Foreign Languages ​​(BTU SFL) has attached great importance to enhance the standards of its foreign language education system since its foundation in 2010. More recently, the quality of foreign language education provided by BTU SFL has been accredited by an internationally-recognized, impartial and independent accreditation body named "EAQUALS (Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Language Services)" for 4 years, until May 31, 2025. Thus, BTU has become one of the two state universities in Turkey to gain this accreditation in the international arena. It has been documented by EAQUALS that BTU SFL meets all of 12 quality standards and it is at an excellent level in seven standards.

This success of BTU SFL in the international arena is not a coincidence. With its effective foreign language education system, BTU SFL was awarded with "the prize of institutions that lead education” in a national organization, which was held with the cooperation of Bursa Governorship, Provincial Directorate of National Education and local media in 2015. Furthermore, BTU SFL also gained a 4-year accreditation from 2016 to 2019 by another international accreditation body called “Pearson Assured”.

As a part of innovative state university, BTU SFL intended to highlight the quality of its foreign language education system once more. In April 2021, BTU SFL went through a detailed review and audit process, which was conducted both online and face-to-face by EAQUALS, Europe's highly prestigious quality and accreditation body. During her investigations, Ms. Saadet ROACH, an inspector from EAQUALS, made a short visit to BTU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ramazan KURT, accompanied by BTU SFL Assistant Director, Inst. Dr. Mustafa SARIOĞLU, and SFL Department Head, Inst. Miranda ÇOLAK. During this meeting, the importance of quality in foreign language education was mentioned. Ms. Saadet ROACH congratulated BTU Vice Rector for the success of BTU in adapting well to the changes in the pandemic period and providing a suitable and high-quality educational environment to its students under these circumstances. Consequently, BTU SFL was entitled to be accredited for 4 years as a result of these inspections carried out by EAQUALS, which promotes excellence in language education all around the world.

With the pride and happiness of this recent achievement, BTU SFL is determined to continue offering its students a high-quality foreign language education at international standards thanks to its Turkish and foreign academic staff who are all expert in their field, its technologically-equipped classrooms for 14-20 students, and its dynamic education system that analyses the needs and expectations of its students and the relevant business sector well, thereby providing them with opportunities to use the target language more effectively.
