SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES
Mission & Vision

The School of Foreign Languages at Bursa Technical University, a state university in Turkey, commenced its educational activities during the 2011-2012 academic year, initially serving 80 students with a team of 8 instructors in Merinos Campus allocated for Bursa Technical University. Since September 2011, Bursa Technical University's School of Foreign Languages (SFL) has provided a rigorous, high-standard foreign language program. Currently, it serves approximately 781 students, supported by a dedicated team of 49 instructors in Yıldırım Beyazid Campus, Yıldırım, Bursa.

BTU SFL offers the English Preparatory Program in 36 classrooms. Generally, 18-24 students can be accommodated in each classroom. Practicing is the cornerstone of language learning. Therefore, it is crucial to provide learners with a student-centered classroom environment. To promote classroom participation, BTU SFL aims to make their students autonomous learners with pair work activities, group projects, and oral & written presentations in an interactive atmosphere. Class sizes are determined solely by proficiency levels to uphold students' educational rights, with some classes comprising as few as 2–5 students. This approach allows BTU's School of Foreign Languages to excel in accurately placing students in levels that best match their abilities and needs, ensuring a tailored learning experience regardless of class size.

Mission

The mission is to endow our students with the English language knowledge and skills that they will need throughout their undergraduate education and to help them develop into effective, productive, and successful individuals in their academic, social, and professional lives. In this regard, we seek to prepare the necessary foundation for our students to use the knowledge and skills that they have acquired effectively and to ensure the success of our students by strengthening their foreign language reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while fostering diversity, promoting sustainability, and advancing innovation through cutting-edge education. As such, we aim to contribute to the education, scientific research, and social services of Bursa Technical University.

Vision
