A Basic First Aid Training session was held at Yıldırım Bayezid Campus by nurse Yasemin Ruhlucan for our students as well as academic and administrative staff.

The training focused on safe and correct first aid practices that can be applied until professional medical teams arrive at the scene in emergency situations.

The programme covered the following topics:

• What first aid is, basic principles, and the responsibilities of a first aider
• Basic life support (BLS) practices
• First aid for bleeding
• First aid for injuries
• First aid for burns, frostbite, and heat stroke
• First aid for fractures, dislocations, and sprains
• First aid in cases of impaired consciousness
• First aid for poisoning
• First aid for animal bites
• First aid when foreign objects enter the eyes, ears, or nose
• First aid in drowning cases

Throughout the session, participants were informed not only through theoretical input but also with practical examples related to emergencies that may occur both on campus and in daily life.

With this training, it was aimed to enable participants to respond to possible accidents and emergencies in a more informed, controlled, and prepared manner, and the event received positive feedback from those who attended.
